My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 8 years ago and have been consistently teaching students in my home studio as well as private contracting studios. Encouraging regular practice on a consistent schedule is one of my key points I like to emphasize for students of all ages, as it tends to help the students progress and gain a passion for the instrument. In May of 2016, I graduated from the University of Connecticut holding a bachelors degree in Music. At UConn, I took - and currently take private lessons with Metropolitan Opera bass-baritone Rod Nelman. I spent a semester taking classes with the Neag School of Education, working a teaching clinical in a nearby middle school, and a semester with the School of Business, studying entrepreneurship and managerial/interpersonal behavior. The student may also begin to lose interest in continuing with instructions. Read More

I teach them whatever they want to learn, while also making suggestions for things that they can improve on. Read More

I believe that aside from developing a sense of accomplishment and pride in my students, as they improve on their instrument, it is essential that from the beginning they learn to sight read, and this is especially true on the piano. The joy that they derive in their later years, when the lessons stop, when they are able to pick up a piece of music and play it, is invaluable. Read More
