I let each student progress at their own pace and give realistic goals for practice between lessons. You will see results immediately which will encourage and motivate you to keep going. Taking a student from not knowing anything to actually being able to play music is very rewarding and inspiring, and that's why I love what I do! Read More

I find that it drives the student to learn the instrument for himself. And as the student wants, more and more, to prove that he can "beat the instrument," he begins to work at it in ways that I can't teach. Learning an instrument is more than showing up for one hour each week. Practice is everything. I feel that my methodology encourages students to take on the instrument head on and learn how to solve problems on their own so that they can practice and improve more quickly. Read More

I have been teaching lessons for 5 years now and got started teaching while studying at Berklee, since then I have grown a lot as a teacher. I have taught guitar and music production at Needham Public High School, where I taught students of all skill levels in classroom settings. I also currently teach at School of Rock Watertown where I teach private lessons as well as ensembles. In both of these jobs, I worked with students of varying age ranges from 7 to 70+ and learned techniques to make information stick. Read More

I was studying Electrical Engineering for two years at Tufts University before I decided to take a leap and follow my passion of music. It has been an incredible journey ever since! I have had the oppurtunity to play a wide variety of musical styles including rock jam-band, folk trio, jazz ensembles, latin jazz, chamber music, solo, duo, avante-garde, electronic, and many more. No matter what the situation, I always love to play, create, and share music with others. Read More

For younger beginning students, I typically start with either the Suzuki Guitar Method or Alfred's Kid's Guitar Course 1. For older children, I typically start with either the Suzuki Guitar Method or Guitar for Kids: Hal Leonard Guitar Method. Students are able to progress through the Suzuki Guitar Method through multiple volumes, or move through the Hal Leonard Guitar Method - Book 1 and continue through subsequent method books. For a classical guitar approach, I use the Suzuki Guitar Method, the Fredrick Noad Method Books, and the Christopher Parkening Guitar Method Book. Read More

For my first lessons I teach the notes of the guitar and some simple chords. I like to find out beforehand what the students are most interested in learning. Then I gather pieces from my students based on what they are interested in and teach them these pieces. I teach tabs and sheets music for guitar as well as different styles from rock to blues to classical. I also like to find out what they family is looking for the child to learn over time. Read More

I'm a performing bassist and music educator with a strong background in jazz and classical music. I love to share my love of music with students and help them discover their own unique path. In 2022, I graduated from the Berklee College of Music with a degree in Performance after receiving the Jimmy Lyons full tuition scholarship. I've had the opportunity to study and play with great jazz musicians such as John Patitucci, Linda May Han Oh, Joe Lovano, and Danilo Perez, as well as perform at venues throughout Boston and the US such as Wallys Jazz Cafe, The Lilypad, Berklee Performance Center, Monterey Jazz Festival, and Dazzle Jazz Club.
