I am a voice, piano, and guitar teacher. I prefer to teach in an easygoing, but precise manner and try to adapt to all my students needs. Ive been in love with music since I was a kid, singing along to everything I could. I studied music in college and graduated in 2012, then started teaching privately in January of 2014. Along with the act of teaching and the enjoyment of music, Im a huge fan of tasty food, learning new things, and exploring the world around me. Read More

I have had the opportunity to learn from many musicians over the course of my musical career. I have gathered much practical music knowledge from University Professors to Street Corner Musicians. Applying that knowledge to my guitar playing has opened up many doors of opportunity and has made my life very interesting. I have performed professionally in various ensembles such as Mariachi, Tejano, Orchestra, and several guitar duets. I currently perform professionally as a solo instrumental guitarist at such venues as restaurants, resorts and private events. Read More

I've always thought the best approach was to get the student playing the type of music or songs they want to the most, right from the start. Over the years I have found that as long as the student plays the style they're interested in, there is always an opportunity to implement the basics (or more advanced ways) to each lesson within a musical styles he/she is comfortable learning within and inspired by. I love working with my students. Its the best part of my job. I love seeing the natural progression of my students. I let students progress at a state that they are comfortable with. I push my students but I know where to draw the line. Asking a student to play a note then all of their scales is not what I do. I tailor every single lesson to every single one of my individual students. Read More

Lessons need to be fun but at the same time the student needs to feel like they're making real progress. What I do is slow down whatever we're working on to a manageable pace for the student then slowly speed things up in a way that is comfortable for the student while at the same time providing new challenges and goals for the student to work toward. If the student is willing I also give the student the opportunity to perform live in front of their friends and family in real shows at real venues around town. Read More

I have been teaching for about 6 months, and so far it has been a great experience. Watching a student become passionate about learning how to read and perform music reminds me of why I am a musician myself. I find that a student is most successful when they have something to work on that stimulates their interest. It encourages more practice and leads to faster development of instrument control and understanding of the way music works. Read More
