My focus is on Technique, Warm ups, and Injury Prevention on each instrument. I like to give precise instructions on how to build up discipline and practice regimens. The key to mastering any instrument is consistency. I believe it's important to get to know each students interest and goals in order to create a customized plan. I try to make each lesson, fun and inspirational. Each person learns differently. This is known as "modality" Auditory By ear, or tonal instruction Kinesthetic By feel, learns from physically being shown, a hands-on learner Visual By sight, by fret board position memory and shape. Being a self taught musician I know how patience is needed when you're learning to play any music instrument. I like teaching students at their own speed. I won't try to get ahead if I see the student is struggling to learn. I like making sure my students learn but most importantly remember what has been taught during the lessons. I don't like overwhelming you with lots of information specially if you're too new in the field. Read More

My approach is focused very much on performance, technicalities, and theory. I believe it is very important for the student to understand how these aspects of playing coincide with each other, and how they are equally essential to music playing. Before giving a student a piece of music to play, I will always play it befoehand and dissect the song into portions that I feel need special attention. I encourage playing with other musicians, and always try to teach the art ofimprovisation, so that the students can learn to play not only by themselves, but with other musicians, using the musicial understanding that it takes to improvise. I started to play the guitar at the age of twelve, but it wasnt until some years later that I found out about the beauty of the classical guitar. Although I currently still enjoy playing and teaching popular guitar, I decided to dedicate myself to the instrument, and expand my repertoire into classical music. Iwas born in Cali, Colombia. In 1998, me and my family moved to the United States. I began my guitar studies under the direction of Jose Adan in Miami, Florida at the Miami Dade College. Read More

I've tended to and have taught around 250 different people since 2013. Although I've typically worked K - 12th grade students, I've taught older students in the range of their 40's - 50's. While working with School of Rock, I was an assistant band director, responsible for coming up with set lists for the youth band, teaching them the material and eventually having them play at a live venue after proving their proficiency. For children and other beginners, I would start our lessons by encoding the basic function of music theory application of a drum pad. This will allow stick control and muscle memory to begin developing. As the beginner becomes more of a novice, I will introduce simple and repetitive songs and go over them as whole pieces. Those who are experienced in percussion, I will have them show me all of the rudiments they know, any complete pieces they have memorized, and have 5 minutes of improvisation. Read More

One of the most critical things about being a musician is the joy of performing. In order to reach this level, a student has to try a lot but also he/she has to enjoy the process. Achieving this balance is the key for every lesson and this is my priority. Setting micro-goals is essential for that and keeps the student motivated. Read More
