Too much discipline and not enough fun and creativity could result in the student feeling stressed out or unmotivated. My experience goes back all the way to middle school. The first time I saw somebody playing a guitar I was surprised. I couldn't believe the melody that came out of it, and just how good it seemed the person playing was feeling. At the time I was about 11 years of age, when my mom bought my first guitar. I started playing very basic songs. My teaching style is individualized to meet the needs of the students. I like to use a portion of the first lesson to discuss the goals and musical interest of the student regardless of age. I encourage beginner students to learn basic theory to develop rudimentary skills. I then try to incorporate a student’s favorite music into the lesson plans.
