I find my greatest joy in sharing music! I'm currently working on a Professional Jazz Guitar Certificate from the Berklee Academy of Music Online, but I have been studying as many genres as I am able to over the years. I love performing and having jam sessions with my friends, and I love meeting new musicians! I was performing in Southern Maryland but recently moved around the D.C area to begin my professional teaching career. Read More

i start beginning guitarists out with Hal Leonard Guitar Method Book One, because even if a player is not destined to rely on traditional notation, they still need to know the names of the notes, so they can communicate with others. For bass students, ensemble is stressed from the get-go--bass is inherently a goup affair. Read More

Proper posture, finger placement, finger pressure and articulation are all part of playing the proper technique. It also helps to minimize fatigue during countless hours of practice. Also, one of the main things in to make sure that the student is practicing on a daily basis and to develop their own practice regimen. Developing a love for the instrument, bordering on healthy obsession, is the key to progressing as a guitar player. Read More

No two students are the same! Firstly, I like to ask the students what the end goal is with their respective instrument. I don't rely on lesson plans, I observe the student as they run through exercises, and I develop each lesson based on areas that they need improvement in. I am extremely patient, and I acknowledge every accomplishment I can. As long as the student is willing to learn, I am willing to teach at whatever pace is comfortable for them. Read More

Honestly, it's up to the student. I have truly enjoyed teaching all kinds of music, and my students and I have had lots of success learning fun, easy, and challenging songs. This also includes the option for the student to learn the vocal melodies of these tunes! Lastly, I am able to provide students the opportunity to write their own songs. This also includes writing vocal melodies and lyrics. This is the most popular mode of learning for my students thus far. Read More
