During the 2015-16 season, I completed a tour with pianist Amanda Zook (Cosme-Zook Duo), performing in New York City, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and Canada. These concerts were sponsored by Project 142 and themselves. As an educator, I teach at the Escuela de Música de Manatí. There I teach flute, flute choir, and wind ensemble. Also, I hold the teacher's assistant position given by my mentor Josué Casillas. I use a variety of methods for my teaching style. I usually have a few method books that I bring to a first lesson, and after meeting the student I will decide on the best one. Once the student has progressed and shows some motivation to be slightly challenged, I'll introduce "popular" music so that the student feels a sense of accomplishment! I began teaching as a young kid in middle and high school. I would give informal lessons to my peers, and this is what started my interest in teaching. I continued this path teaching classical flute and jazz improvisation to anyone who would listen to me! In college, I worked with the saxophone players in the jazz department helping them develop their flute sound as a doubles instrument.
