Conrad's career spans over 20 years of featured performance and recordings by the likes of Jaco Pastorius, Lenny Kravitz, Queen of Soul Aretha Franklin and Sting. Born in St Louis, Missouri, he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Music from Webster University. Soon after graduating, he relocated to New York City, where he established a relationship with the great instrumentalist and composer Jaco Pastorius (featured on Pastorius’ recordings “Punk Jazz” and “NYC Jam” and featured live from 1983-1986). Then (as they say), the rest is history. He continued on to perform with a “Who’s Who” in music entertainment including The Temptations (1986), Thomas Dolby (1988), Dave Valentin (1988) and Lenny Kravitz (1989). His ambidextrous florid jazz style placed him comfortably in the company of an eclectic roster including “The College Boyz”, “The Cult”, Tyrone Davis (1990) and the rock group “Living Colour” (1991). He’s received a number of video credits including Lenny Kravitz’ hit “It Aint Over ‘Til It’s Over”, Queen Latifah’s “How Do I Love Thee " Sting’s “You Still Touch Me”. It was during this time that the directors of the hit FOX Network detective series “New York Undercover” called him to appear with a number of featured guests with the shows' "Natalie's" segment including Al Jarreau, Al Green, Mavis Stables, Mary J. Blige, and many others. Through a referral, the call came from superstar singer/guitarist Sting, where he toured extensively in 1996-97. It was through his appearances with Sting that he was placed in demand by yet another hierarchy of stars e.g. James Taylor, Elton John, Diana Ross and a feature spot on Aretha Franklin’s 1998 hit song “A Rose Is Still A Rose”(U.K. version) written and produced by singer/songwriter Lauryn Hill. His current single debut "Caribbean Woman" is his latest smash hit on the Spectra Jazz Label.
My lesson style is fun and relaxed with lots of compliments and encouragement. It is a time to demonstrate success and enjoy the satisfaction of reaching a new level of playing each week. My favorite quote is "practice is doing what you can not do, over and over, until YOU CAN DO IT!"
I try to have a very positive approach to teaching. I believe that if a student is told what they are doing wrong constantly, they will feel like they aren't good enough for the instrument, or they will lose interest. I instead focus on telling them what they are doing right, and offer suggestions on what they need to improve on.
For beginner students I find out their learning style before I assign them a method book. The method book I choose will depend on their learning style. As they progress I incorporate music that they are familar with and songs that they would like to play. For Intermediates and Advanced students I plan my lessons according to their interests and what they would like to achieve from taking lessons. I aim to please. If the student is happy I am happy too.
I am a devoted lifelong musician who loves nothing more than sharing the joy of music with others. Growing up, I played trombone, euphonium, and tuba with my school bands. In my college and professional career, I have become proficient on all band instruments. I especially enjoy trumpet, horn, flute, clarinet, EWI (electronic wind instrument), electric bass, and percussion. My home studio is state of the art and has quite a lot of instruments!

We recommend beginning flute lessons around age 8 or 9. Most school music programs usually begin flute students in the 3rd or 4th grade. The student needs to be big enough to be able to appropriately hold the instrument, including having the minimum hand/finger length to reach the flute keys/holes comfortably, and have the lung capacity to play properly without running out of breath.
For a new flutist, Musika recommends renting initially and buying an instrument later on if the student has demonstrated some commitment. Reliable brands include Yamaha, Armstrong, and Gemeinhardt. More advanced players should consider a flute with open hole keys and a B foot joint. Very young players can use a curved head-joint to assist playing.
Flute lessons can occur in your home for the same price as in-studio lessons. The student lets Musika know what days and times work best, and we arrange for an instructor to come to your home, at no extra cost to you!
Flute can be a wonderful instrument for older students, especially those who have escaped, or already dealt with, the plight of braces! Of the woodwinds, the flute can be a relatively easy instrument for beginners, and an extremely satisfying instrument to study at any age.
The teachers in our network create a customized lesson plan for every student. Topics covered during Musika's flute lessons may include, but are not limited to: correct embouchure formation, how to appropriately shape your lips to blow into the instrument, how to develop a solid tone in low and high registers, how to hold, assemble, and clean the instrument properly, fingerings for notes, techniques for developing quick finger action for passages, different articulation, how to slur or tongue cleanly, and most importantly, how to have fun playing the flute!

Eduard is an amazing teacher. (Coming from someone who previously knew the basics of playing and music.) He is not to harsh with his words and is extremely nice. Eduard has a great amout of experience and displays it through his teachings. Specifically by making it easy to follow along with his words to actions. As a person with a wondering mind whom is distracted easily, it is easy to pay attention.

“Lynn is my music hero! She can listen to any song and write down the chords. She will adjust to make it easier or harder whatever your abilities. I have a busy schedule and often don't have time to practice between lessons and she is cool with that. She also will adjust lesson times when she is able which fits my hectic schedule. I'm glad my first guitar teacher "fired" me ....that allowed me to meet Lynn.” - Carol A., M.D., Aug 2015

Very knowledgeable on every aspect of music theory. I listen to recording artists playing various classical pieces, Dan's playing is much like a recording artist's playing. Always on time. Winning happy personality, a great role model. Puts me at ease when I am playing. Have two friends who hold music degrees, I count him a third, something special about the minds and personalities of good pianists. Thanks Dan.

My two daughters wanted to study piano fore some time now and just recently I found Musikalessons website and teacher Milica. I can only say that my daughters are very happy with their piano lessons and simply adore Milica. They already made a great progress and we're all happy with what they learned in this short period. Thank you Musikalessons and Milica.

After moving from NY and parting from our amazing piano instructor, we thought we couldn't find a piano teacher close to what we knew. We are happy to say Musika matched us up with someone professional and friendly who enjoys teaching younger students. Thank you! We definitely recommend Kuan as a piano instructor :)

Karleen has really turned it around for me. My previous teacher (not from Musika) had me feeling anxious, upset, and incapable...NOT the desired result! Karleen's method is clear, appropriate for my beginning level, and (best of all) actually lets me achieve some progress! I'm actually looking forward to my lessons now!

Travis is the greatest. He knows his music and how to teach it. He gives you time to learn, but will not allow student time to get lazy. I know he teaches all age groups. Young pre-teens to us old folks 78 years young. I have been taking lessons from him since early December 2014. He is a true professional. You can't go wrong with him.

Bill has been great with my 2 young children (age 3 & 6). He has integrated games into the lessons - they have enjoyed showing us how to play the games when it is time to practice piano. Bill has been easy to contact and rescheduling has not been a problem if we have a conflict at our regular lesson time.

I have known Erin since I attended graduate school at the Hartt School in Connecticut. Last year she came to the college I teach at to give a master class and talk about her experiences as a musician abroad. She has proven that she is a capable and wonderful musician and educator. I highly recommend studying with her if you're lucky enough to have the opportunity!
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
