For voice students, I have my own curriculum to help them know how to use their voice in a good way. For piano beginning students I typically start with Piano Adventures method. For Flute students, I start with Rubank Elementary method. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire. I have song lists that have songs in different styles and levels for the student to choose from, and I also encourage students bringing songs they like to keep the lessons engaging and fun. I have specific background in flute sound and tone production have been the student of the renown flutist and teacher, Frances Blaisdell. I use standard method books, along with personal sheets of exercises I have developed through the years. I publish my own solo books with accompaniments, which I also use. These books are primarily classical pieces, but I also use digital accompaniments for jazz and popular music. Theory and ear training are also part of my lessons. My lesson books include Rubank books for beginning students, and Rose, Andersen, and Bassi studies for more advanced students. Read More

I began teaching in 2012 when I was awarded the Graduate Assistant position at Western Michigan University. As a G.A., I was responsible for teaching non-music majors saxophone lessons, theory and ear-training, as well as coaching ensembles. I also taught flute and clarinet at Paramount Charter Academy in Kalamazoo, Michigan to middle school students.
