My methods are based on what each student wishes to accomplish with these lessons. I have a wide variety of exercises/books/recordings that are guided to help the student reach their maximum potential. In particular, I specifically focus on sound, technique, reading, simulating performance scenarios, school auditions, recitals, and improvisation. I approach all these topics with care so that the student learns the most in a stress free environment. Read More

At this point, I encourage the student to bring in any of their favorite songs that they (or their parents) would like for them to play and I custom create an arrangement that is suitable for their abilities. This method allows the student to not only understand the names of the notes and develop proper technique, but it also gives the student a tremendous confidence boost and allows them to have fun making music! I also want to stress the variation of the type of music a student plays... learning different compositions in many styles, be it baroque, romantic, folk, or even just rock songs, helps a student to have more fun learning and also become more musically rounded and intuitive. I also always encourage my students to listen to the pieces they are playing! This gives them a better understanding of the piece as a whole. Read More

Most importantly, we are all here to have fun and enjoy playing music. I always encourage my students to take risks, have a laugh and ask questions. I work to build the student's confidence in their playing, ability to practice well, ability to perform in public and ability to be comfortable making mistakes. We all progress at various rates and progress at any level is an accomplishment that each student should be proud to achieve. If a student or parent of a student expresses their interested to move forward in a serious capacity, I am more than happy to encourage such movement. Read More

I believe each student is different and because of that every student needs to be taught differently and at their own pace. Learning a new skill can be frustrating and because of that my goal is to acknowledge accomplishments, and to give students more creative freedom as their skills on the instrument grow. I believe it is this formula that pushes students into practicing. With each skill mastered the student can directly see the application of the lesson they just learned in an everyday musical situation. Read More
Instruments: Voice Flute Music
As I pursued my Master’s degree at Rutgers University, I took private lessons from Grammy-winning opera singers such as Eduardo Chama, all while continuing to sing and perform locally. My education in music has taught me to value the relationship between instructor and student, as I know that I learned best when I felt that my instructor was committed to my improvement as a singer. I've served as musical director for multiple theaters in New Jersey in performances of Into The Woods, South Pacific, and Cabaret. Read More
