During my college years, I worked as a graduate teaching assistant which allowed me to help students primarily in music. My personal musical highlights include performances with the CCM Philharmonia, Wind Orchestra, and Chamber Players. You can also find me in the pit orchestras for many theaters in Cincinnati. Once the student has progressed and has managed to grasp fundamentals, we can proceed to the next volumes within the same series. I began teaching beginner students when I was 16 years old and have been doing it ever since. It's never seemed like a "job" to me. I enjoy the excitement of a first-time student making their first sound to sight-reading duets with more experienced students. I started a flute choir at a local high school and would love to start one of my own at my studio. For the beginner who is 11 or younger, I start with John Thompson's Piano Courses to make sure the student familiar with all necessary elements of music. Then I will introduce some music that helps developing fingers appropriately and beautiful at the same time, such as Lemoine and Burgnlueller.
