I began teaching beginner students when I was 16 years old and have been doing it ever since. It's never seemed like a "job" to me. I enjoy the excitement of a first-time student making their first sound to sight-reading duets with more experienced students. I started a flute choir at a local high school and would love to start one of my own at my studio. I am pursuing my Bachelor of Music in Flute at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music as a student of Randy Bowman, Principal Flute of the Cincinnati Symphony. My personal musical highlights include performances with the CCM Philharmonia, Wind Orchestra, and Chamber Players. You can also find me in the pit orchestras for many theaters in Cincinnati. We further move on to the Intermediate and Advanced methods while also adding solo repertoire that is suitable to their skill level. Along with these method books, we will also work on music that they personally enjoy. For the beginner who is 11 or younger, I start with John Thompson's Piano Courses to make sure the student familiar with all necessary elements of music. Then I will introduce some music that helps developing fingers appropriately and beautiful at the same time, such as Lemoine and Burgnlueller.
