If there are no immediate goals for my students, I prefer to focus on classical technique and tone exercises that I compile through a variety of method books for each woodwind instrument. This includes but is not limited to: Moyse, Kroepsch, Baermann, Ferling, Shaw, Filas, Lacour, and many others. For beginning students, I typically like to work out of the Rubanks Elementary Flute Method Books. I also like to find repertoire which will interest each student, with solo repertoire and duets. As students progress, I like to work out of the Trevor Wye books as well as Taffanel et Gaubert Daily Exercises. I grew up in Massachusetts, where I attended the New England Conservatory Preparatory School, and later went to the University of Manitoba on a full scholarship to study with Jon Gordon.
