I hold two Undergraduate Degrees from Bard College (flute and dance) and a Master's Degree in Flute Performance from Queens College. While at IU, I played in many ensembles focusing on chamber music, and I studied under Kathryn Lukas. I am originally from Marietta, Georgia, where I studied with Christina Smith. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with the Rubank Elementary Method book and the Forty Little Pieces Collection for beginning flutists. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce additional solo repertoire appropriate for their first performance including pieces out of the 24 Short Concert Pieces for Flute and Piano book, as well as move on to the Intermediate and Advanced Rubank Method books.
