I began teaching in my sophomore year of college at the age of 19. I started by giving thirty minute to one hour lessons to local students. I soon began leading masterclasses for the flute students of the local middle and high schools. Most recently, I taught a masterclass to a large group (30-40) of high school flute students. For beginning students who are children, I use the Rubank Method for Flute as well as Pares Scales. Once they have become more advanced I assign more challenging etude and scale books. When the student has a grasp of the instrument,I present solo repertoire and orchestral excerpts tailored for each level. Piano Books: For the age under 5, I use Music for Little Mozart by Alfred. For the age 5 to 9, I use Prep Course by Alfred, Piano Adventure Pre primer lever.
