A flute teacher in Colorado Springs who delights in being a part of my students' musical journeys, I have over forty years' teaching and performing experience in the United States, Germany, and Norway. I have my Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance and performed as a part of U.S. Army Bands. Over the years I have taught in music stores, band rooms, community centers, and my home studio. Students have shown accelerated progress in tone, musicianship, and technique; consistently placed in All-County, -District, and -State Honor Bands and Orchestras; been awarded superior ratings in Solo and Ensemble Festivals; and enjoyed the weekly interaction with a trusted adult who listens and genuinely cares about each individual student. My teaching style is fairly easy going. I don't force unrealistic expectations on students because everyone is learning music for a different reason. I like to figure out what their reason is and progress accordingly.
