Effective practice habits are agreed upon between myself and each student. Goals cannot be achieved without effective practice habits. When I taught Kindermusik to 18 month old children with their parents, it was fun to see how they could copy a rhythmic phrase with their parent or caregiver, it was so sweet. They could reproduce a complicated pattern using "Bab ba's to bond with their parent. My first experience teaching someone was when I was younger in my high school days, I was teaching my 7 year old nephew how to play ukulele which was an arduous task indeed. But through said trails and tribulations we managed to accomplish our goals together. Currently Im teaching guitar at the fine arts academy and I am teaching one student consistently while also substituting occasionally. One thing I have learned through teaching is that actually listening to music during practice is a big help and motivation which I like to include in sessions. Read More
