I graduated from Emporia State University in May 2023 with my Master of Music degree in Flute Performance. During my time at ESU I was in the marching band (piccolo/trumpet), Hornet Revue (piccolo), Jazz Ensemble (piano), Wind Ensemble (principal flute/piccolo), symphony orchestra (principal flute), fall musicals, and flute choir. No matter how old is the student or how many experiences that they have, one thing I am emphasizing in the lesson is enhancing their interest and motivation in playing the piano. It is because I can offer them the method of practice, musical knowledge, but ultimately it is their decision to practice or devote in music or not. I believe in a student learning to hear music and think for themselves. Through ear training, creativity, and learning "how" music works, the goal is to get each student to not need a teacher to learn their instrument, but want a teacher so they may become their best version of it.
