In 2006, I accepted a position with The Van-Dells and moved to Nashville, Tennessee. After returning in 2007, having received my Journeyman and Professional certificates in percussion, I was hired on in 2007 as a classroom drummer, teaching assistant, and LPW (Live Playing Workshop) instructor, all the while playing gigs with local bands and working doing recording sessions. I was luckily enough to know even as a child that music was what I wanted to spend my life doing. I attended a charter middle and high school in Western Massachusetts dedicated to the performing arts, which provided me with a lot of early experience playing music with other people and honing my craft. The goal is to make playing music less of a chore, and instead, have it be something they enjoy just as much as playing video games or soccer.
