Overview:
I am a drummer, composer, and educator born and raised in the Los Angeles area. I have been playing professionally and teaching since I was about 16 years old. Playing the drums and writing music is my life passion. My goal is to pass on my deep love for music by teaching and playing the drums all around the world.
EXPERIENCE
My teaching experience dates back to when I was a student at the Los Angeles High School for the Arts. While pursuing my own education I also had five private drum students ranging from the ages of 7-15. I am fortunate enough to have learned a great deal about teaching all different ages from my father, who has been a private guitar teacher for over 35 years. During my time at Berklee College of Music, I taught group clinics and while our tour with the Karen Lovely Band I mentored mentally handicapped music students in the Netherlands with a group called United By Music.
METHODS USED
My teaching method is relatively simple, but is somewhat backwards from how most people teach music. I start with teaching the student a song, at his/her level, by listening to the record and by my example. After that I like to go back and give written out exercises and notes on what we did in the song. Often times a student will get a technical exercises and begin to get frustrated with it because they can't see why they're learning it. This method the student gets a glimpse of the end result and knows exactly what we're working torwards.
LESSON STYLE
My teaching style differs from student to student. With the younger students, it's all about fun. The goal is to make playing music less of a chore, and instead, have it be something they enjoy just as much as playing video games or soccer.  For the adult students, and students interested in playing music professionally, I tend to give them more material at a much quick rate.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.
