I have been teaching music since 2005. I started as an in home music instructor, providing guitar, bass and piano lessons to people of all ages in their homes. As my teaching experience grew, I've added drums and ensemble/group lessons to my repertoire. I've also been hired as a bass and guitar instructor and curriculum director by a number of private music schools in and around the Boston area. My lessons focus on creating excitement and enthusiasm for the instrument through playing examples, live playing or "jamming" and encouraging the student to develop a consistent practice schedule. I have been playing guitar for nearly 20 years. Over those years I have played many different styles, playing different instruments in different bands, from open mics to big venues all over the country. I love playing music and love helping others discover their love as well. One note worthy teaching gig I’ve had was working for a company in Nassau County, NY teaching guitar and music theory to developmentally challenged adults in a day program. There is no musician I will turn away; my focus is guitar, but I have many instruments and can introduce the basics for many such as drums, violin, viola, cello, piano, bass guitar, as well as composition and arrangement. I have worked with many bands, ensembles, and chamber groups, and would love the opportunity to help you achieve your musical goals. Whatever your musical interests, I'll help you get to where you want to go. Read More

Hello, my name is Patrick. I am a professional drummer, percussionist and educator in the Boston Metro area. I received a B.A. in History from Loyola University in New Orleans (class of '08). While in New Orleans I studied under the Louisiana Philharmonic's premier timpanist, Jim Atwood. I also studied with New Orleans drumming legends Johnny Vidacovich, Wayne Moreau, and Stanton Moore. Here in Boston I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Berklee College of Music. Read More

In nearly a decade of private drum instruction, I have begun to develop a methodology that I use in getting a student on the path toward success and efficient learning as a drummer and a musician. There are four basic steps in my methodology, and they are listed as follows: 1. Find your own personal voice as an artist/musician. What style of music attracts you the most? What artists/albums can you listen to on repeat? Read More

I have taught guitar, drums and music on and off over the past 30 years. From children to seniors and ages in between, I say practice makes perfect! As a teacher I encourage my students to progress. I learned so much from my great teachers, I experienced being a student myself! I am learning all the time. As a student I learned a lot, so in turn I enjoy teaching what I have learned. Read More

I want all my students to succeed. It is important to me that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realist goals for my students at each lesson. I try to find out what inspires my students, then I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Read More

My lessons for vocalists are divided into two sections: technique and repertoire. For singers, breath management skills are of primary importance as this directly affects intonation. I like to begin with Anne Peckham's The Contemporary Singer. My students can choose any songs they would like to sing while we work on musicianship skills including expression and lyrical phrasing. Singers who want to study jazz and improvisation use one or more of my pedagogical texts on scat singing. Read More
