After studying jazz performance at the University of New Orleans under the tutelage of jazz icon Ellis Marsalis, I attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston being awarded the Best Entering Student Talent scholarship in '02 and the Berklee Achievement-based Scholarship in '02, '03 and '04 graduating with honors in 2005 with a Major in Bass Performance. My teaching style is very simple. We will begin by finding the interests of the student. Then we’ll identify what they like about the instrument and their basic knowledge. Once that is done, we’ll begin experimenting with different generes. And finally, we’ll create a plan that will allow them the chance to grow musically and fundamentally on the drums.
