In September 2010, i was the drummer for the band " The Secret ", we won the  first place in the “EUROVOICE” contest with our song “In the Arms of My Angel”. I moved to Austin, Texas (USA) in February 2013 to continue my musical career. Since then, i have played with many Austin musicians as well as being a member of One World (R)evolution  and the drummer of the  artist  "Sefo" .  We are presently in the studio recording their upcoming album, expected for release in 2015. I like to use custom lesson plans. I evaluate the student's playing and ask what they want to improve on and/or want to learn. Based off of this, I might use rhythmic study exercises from Ted Reed's "Syncopation" or hand patterns from the book "Stick Control", playing on both a practice pad and the kit. I like to have students play a simple 8th note groove, backbeat on 2 & 4 and incorporate bass drum precision exercises, eventually using different hi hat patterns. Read More

Music is my passion. Coming from a family of musicians, I was inspired at a young age. At 8 years old, I started playing the drums. My grandfather, who played for Tommy Dorsey, was my deepest inspiration and motivated me to dial into my interest. Starting out, I played in church, the school jazz band, and took private lessons with Edd Dicapua. In 2006 I began teaching private lessons. Also I have continued to teach private lessons at schools in the Corpus are while I was a Band Director in Sinton for 29 years. Depending on the age and personality, I cater each lesson to the individual. If they are younger students, I'll use Mel Bay or Hal Leonard books, but sometimes I will make a custom book that builds with their development and learning style. I believe reading sheet music is important, but understand that being able to play along with other musicians using ear training and improv skills, as well as reading chord charts, is just as necessary.
