I specialize in the performance and instruction of classical, operatic music, and Kindermusik, but also teach the genres of jazz, spiritual, cultural/ethnic music, and childrens music. Mymusical expertise encompasses performance, vocal technique, musical analysis, theory, and principle applications of classical music. After graduation, I began teaching and performing for organizations and schools throughout Austin. I havebeen teaching privately for over ten years, and have had the delightful privilege of teaching privately for Leander ISD for four wonderful years, and classroom music for grades K-12 at Victory Christian Center School. Voice progress is very personal to each student. Not only is every voice unique, but so are the student's goals. Singing needs to be fun and inspirational- or you won't keep up with it. The skills you will learn in my studio will help you get into college, find a job (with better interviewing skills), and express yourself. These are tools that you will take with you for the rest of your life. Read More

As mentioned, I began teaching in my teenage years and to this day, it is one of my greatest passions. Equipping someone with new ways to express their love for music and emotions inside is absolutely thrilling to me! While i have mostly taught private lessons, I have also taught for a couple different music companies as well and had great success with my students! I find it very easy to “find the connection” right off the back with my students and they seem to respond very well to my personality and teaching styles. Read More

Singing lessons should always be fun and positive. A student should come out of a voice lesson with new knowledge that they can then go and apply during their practice at home. I am a firm believer that most of the learning is done outside the lesson through the student's application of what he/she learned during the lesson. My belief is that I am a guide to the student, but the student must meet me halfway, so that we can learn from each other, work together, and find what works best for the student's voice. Read More

I am a passionate full time musician that both teaches and performs. I have been teaching private lessons for 9 years and performing for 4 years. I started out as an academically driven violinist while playing guitar recreationally. However, in college fell in love with playing guitar in the Jazz band and soon their after, I found my love for songwriting. I wrote, recorded, and published under the band name City of Decades while performing all over the country. Read More

While I do teach students to read music and teach the theory behind tunes and compositions that we learn, I think that the MOST important element in anyone's pursuit of musical proficiency lay in the ability to connect what one hears to what one plays. Ear training therefore is a large component. I do use the time honored texts by Hal Leonard and Alfred publications or some from Mel Bay and those from Jay Traylor as well as many others such as the Real Book and Greg Fishman texts. Read More
