Once a student has completed this, I begin to offer materials that are more specific to the musical genre that they have stated interest in. As a student progresses, I work to expose them to a variety of techniques with a focus on helping them to develop their own unique voice on their instrument. For younger students I heavily emphasize just having fun, and that every lesson they can go home and say 'look mom/dad at what I can do!'
