I began my musical training at age 8, began playing professionally as a teenager, and have been teaching for 15 years. I graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 2011 with a Bachelors of Music Education, with a minor in Percussion Performance. I am very fortunate to have the opportunity to perform several nights a week around Austin, and to have toured the US multiple times during the past two years. In September 2010, i was the drummer for the band " The Secret ", we won the  first place in the “EUROVOICE” contest with our song “In the Arms of My Angel”. I moved to Austin, Texas (USA) in February 2013 to continue my musical career. Since then, i have played with many Austin musicians as well as being a member of One World (R)evolution  and the drummer of the  artist  "Sefo" .  We are presently in the studio recording their upcoming album, expected for release in 2015. My teaching approach generally depends on who the student is, and what that student intends to accomplish. Generally, I am more of a music "coach" who teaches by teaching, and then doing. I typically use a book for the basis of reference, and then encourage the student to go beyond the notes on the page. I teach always. I teach by example, and I teach formally. My formal teaching background begins in church when I was 19. I did my mom a favor and started teaching/leading the children's choir. It was fun, I enjoyed it thoroughly, and our 2 performances went GREAT! It gave me a taste for it so I became an actual teacher in the SMCISD school district as a Focus Teacher (Special Education). Patience is the key. For the teacher and the student. There's no need to get upset or angry. Music isn't hard, bricks are. Music just takes time. If there's a section of the music that's challenging, I like to take it in chunks. By focussing on the first couple bars and once that's clean, we can look at the next couple bars.
