I find that it is important to work on making a sound from the instrument as soon as possible, thats why often times the first drumset lesson will include learning a beat on the drumset. And so I ensure that our lessons consist of lots of musical moments with instruction, feedback, follow up, and accountability built into the lesson time at moments when it will be motivating and not intimidating.
