Instruments: Piano Drums Keyboard
If I'm teaching a beginning drummer or pianist my first goal is to help them realize that music is fun and the ability to play it is a gift. One of the most important concepts I teach my students is the ONE MONTH RULE. Multiple studies show that it takes at least a month to establish a new habit or routine. How does this relate to music? With younger students, I make sure to communicate with the parents about their practicing routine. Read More
Instruments: Drums
Though I do not have a long extensive list of past students and decades of teaching, I am no stranger to the act. I worked helping the more novice drummers in my schools jazz and pep bands to play up to snuff, and also worked closely with an aspiring drummer to bring him from complete beginner to competent enough to play in his church group and join his own band! I tailor each lesson to the student’s needs and desires. I encourage all of them to develop reading, listening, coordination, and concentrating skills. I help each student to have the ability to play many different music styles and improvise in those styles. We work with developing the ear in order to play along with recorded music and teach them how to transcribe the songs so that they can document it for future use. Read More

Instruments: Drums Mallet Percussion Orchestral Percussion Conga Latin Percussion
I began to assist to my percussion at the age of 16. First just as a helper, then my teacher began to transfer me some of his students. I have taught classical percussion rudiments on the snare drum and keyboard instruments as well as drum set. I am more passionate about teaching cajon and bongos because I get to teach the music I grew up listening to. Having said that my strength is the vibraphone because I have been playing it professionally for the past 8 years. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Drums Synthesizer Ukulele Orchestral Percussion Conga Djembe
I first began teaching in 2012, when I gave volunteer drum lessons. Shortly after that, I began giving piano and voice lessons both in schools and one-on-one. Currently, when I'm not teaching private lessons, I work part-time as a traveling pre-school music teacher, where I teach preschoolers music with my guitar, picture books, and even puppets! I am comfortable teaching students of all ages but prefer young children, as they can benefit the most from developing a passion for their instrument, which can lead to a lifelong pursuit of music. I have been playing the drums since age 10. Starting out playing rock and roll but quickly started playing Jazz, Latin, Samba, and Show Tunes. After graduating high school, I went to attend Montclair State University's Jazz program. After College I quickly got my masters degree from New York University in Jazz studies as well, where I studied with some of the most important people in modern music, including but not limited to: Lenny White, Lenny Pickett, John Scofield, Alan Ferber, Billy Dummond, Tony Moreno, and more.
