I learned a lot from the dozens of teachers I took private lesons with growing up. In 2010 I was a counselor for a music camp in Upstate New York. I worked with young kids and helped teach them pop/classic songs. I've had a Diaspora class in college on teaching drumset to beginngers. I have been teaching since I was 16. I frequently ran sectionals in my high school as well as at multiple youth orchestras. I taught privately on and off throughout high school and college. I encourage regular practice and help build problem-solving skills because in the end, you are your own best teacher. I focus on nurturing a students natural curiosity, while helping them find the tools to pursue their own musical interests. Many of my younger students prefer to use technology to connect with music (learning how songs are recorded, and the theory behind songwriting), but I also work with more serious students to prepare for college auditions, state/regional jazz band, etc. My methods differ depending on a student's own goals, but they generally all will start with a technical exercise, an exercise designed to get the student thinking critically, and an application of the concepts we're learning. I began teaching music when I was 18, I began teaching private drums and piano lessons in my home studio, I've been consistently teaching students in my home studio for the last 7 years. Upon graduation, I got my first music teacher position at Rishon Lezion conservatory, I taught private saxophone, flute, drums, and piano lessons as well as group music theory lessons and directed students ensembles.
