Apart from being the drummer for Seek Irony, I worked as a professional session drummer for ten years before moving to the US about a year and a half ago. I used to play drums for half of the music industry in Israel. I started playing drums and percussion 12 years ago, both classically, and privately trained. I was taught all play styles, and approaches to percussive arts. In high school, I was apart of a drum line and in 2015, I started drumming in a Rockabilly group in southern Illinois. I like to use custom lesson plans. I evaluate the student's playing and ask what they want to improve on and/or want to learn. Based off of this, I might use rhythmic study exercises from Ted Reed's "Syncopation" or hand patterns from the book "Stick Control", playing on both a practice pad and the kit. I like to have students play a simple 8th note groove, backbeat on 2 & 4 and incorporate bass drum precision exercises, eventually using different hi hat patterns. Read More

Patience is the key. For the teacher and the student. There's no need to get upset or angry. Music isn't hard, bricks are. Music just takes time. If there's a section of the music that's challenging, I like to take it in chunks. By focussing on the first couple bars and once that's clean, we can look at the next couple bars.
