I graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia with a Bachelor's degree in Jazz / Commercial music performance. After college I spent years honing my playing skills in all types of musical situations as well as teaching, and working as a recording engineer. I teach combination of the Suzuki method and the Hungarian style (stressing the natural, comfortable, painless, tension free method). For young students, the Suzuki method is great, since the repertoire is all fun! Also the CD that comes with every level is vital! Children enjoy and benefit from that. I like to develop a plan to get each student to a level of proficiency in which they can direct themselves toward the next goal. Teaching the most basic concepts in how to build a chord or a scale by using formulas is my favorite way to approach the lesson. An individual's understanding of music is always changing therefore I feel it is better to change with them.
