I've been a drummer for 22 years, and a teacher for going on 2 now. I mostly travel and do private lessons, but can accommodate any situation! I played in symphonic band throughout college, along with being in multiple different projects in multiple genres. I played my first gig at the age of 12, and I just love playing drums. I started out on snare, then got a kit for my 7th birthday, and I never looked back! Read More

I believe in making teaching fun and tend to try to break larger skills into smaller bite sized pieces that build upon one another. My goal is to allow students to pursue their musical interests while also making sure a solid foundation is being established in terms of the way music actually works (music theory) and what types of motions allow for efficient and safe production of sound (technique). I encourage composition and creative play at all levels of musical development. Read More

My main goal and teaching is to inspire self motivation and make it fun! I like to pick songs that are fun to play and challenging at the same time depending on what level you are at that time. By doing this I think keeping the instrument out and not in the closet is a good start that way if the inspiration hits you and you want to play it is within your reach "guitar stand and wall hangers are ideal" and not in the case the put away " Out of sight out of mind" I suggest buying a music stand for your instruments and or wall hangers which seem to work very well as a display and also so the instrument is within your reach. For Advanced students we learn to jam with other instrumentalists, and write our own drum beats. Just like a pianist would learn to compose a melody, my drum students can learn to compose their own drum beats like all great drummers do. And finally the most advanced student can learn to manage the rhythm of a song, not only the drums but also the other instruments. Any level of student can expect to learn the necessary rudiments, beats, fills to have a vast and deep repertoire. Read More
