During my years of teaching in East Lansing Michigan my band programs continually earned first and second division ratings at festivals. We took trips to Chicago every other year to see the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and to do a workshop at Northwestern University and my students received first and second division ratings at Solo and Ensemble both at the district and state levels.
I have good references from my current students
My teaching and free lancing experience dates back to 1999 while attending Manhattan School of Music in New York. While teaching in New York, I enjoyed teaching privately and through community outreach programs. Throughout my education, I have had the opportunity to study the clarinet with some of the countries finest teachers and players. I am excited to share techniques and ways of practicing that can help students develop a mature sound and proficient technique on the instrument.

Taking clarinet lessons as an adult is a great way to learn a new skill. Many of our adult students may have played clarinet as a child and want to pick it back up again, however it is still beneficial for students of all levels. Adult students can generally notice a lot of progress in a short time, provided they are practicing every day between their lessons.
Each student will have a custom lesson plan created for them by their instructor. Our teachers will generally recommend specific method books that students can purchase for use in their lessons. Students will learn how to read music, how to sight read, musicianship skills, and the specific skills needed to play the clarinet and support the sound.
We suggest starting clarinet lessons at age 7 or 8. A student should be able to hold the instrument correctly, and their fingers must be large enough to do this. Playing clarinet also requires significant lung capacity, which can be difficult for a younger child.
Wood clarinets are the usual option for beginning level students. It is common for students to rent the clarinet until they are able to afford to buy one. All clarinets will come with a sturdy case so that the instrument can be transported safely. The pieces included with the instrument are the bell, the lower joint, the upper joint, the barrel, and the mouthpiece. You will also need to invest in reeds, or a reed making kit if you wish to make your own reeds.
Clarinet lessons in home are a convenient way to learn an instrument. In home lessons are structured the same way as in-studio and there is no additional travel time. Our teachers generally teach students one lesson a week.

“I took drum lessons from Mark for about 7 months. I have been playing for 38 years but always thrive to learn more. He was able to provide me alternative exercises and help me gain a better understanding of my opportunities. I have been able to take my playing to another level. His approach to teaching is perfect for any level of student, beginner or advanced. He is a true professional and an outstanding person. You won't go wrong with Mark!” Blaine Vaz

She is amazing! My daughter, Isabella (7 yrs) is totally engaged in the lesson. Lilly's definitely has a gift with teaching young children!!! A great talent of hers is making the content interesting, current to today's music and most of all fun! She has a knack for taking the material and translating it in a way that is relatable to Isabella. My daughter really enjoys her lesson's and has moved along rather quickly with the material. Thanks Lilly!

I have been playing the drums for about 5 years and I have to say that Alvaro is very patient. He has opened me up to new styles of music and I can now play a Songo groove! What I liked most was that he was flexible in what I wanted him to teach me and would also bring in new material specifically to what I wanted him to show me. Overall, great patient teacher and would highly recommend! Thanks Alvaro!

Bill has been great with my 2 young children (age 3 & 6). He has integrated games into the lessons - they have enjoyed showing us how to play the games when it is time to practice piano. Bill has been easy to contact and rescheduling has not been a problem if we have a conflict at our regular lesson time.

My son is truly enjoying his lessons with Chris. He looks forward to them and is motivated to practice. Chris is conscientious and shows up on time and whenever he is supposed to. He communicates clearly if rescheduling is ever required and is accommodating when we need to change the day. I would recommend Chris to anyone.

Cory is simply the greatest instructor ever! His 30 year plus teaching experience along with his knowledge of ever longer in music composition and performance make a real difference if you're in for learning the right way. Thank you Cory for teaching me not only the chords but also the history behind it and awesome tricks on getting better faster ;)

Kevin is very friendly and professional trombone teacher. During the first session he assessed my 12 year old son's strengths and identified areas for development. He has helped him refine his technique which helps our son in band class but also has him working on duets that help him grow in new ways. He comes to our home and is always very punctual. I would highly recommend Kevin!

My daughter really enjoys her lessons with Pavel. She is an absolute beginner and Pavel is right with her as she learns the basics. She is completely engaged and always looks forward to her lesson. He packs a lot of learning into their 30 minute time slot - he gets right to it as soon as he walks in the door! He is a great teacher - we highly recommend!
Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
