In 1995, I graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with the Faber series, along with accompanying primer theory and lesson book. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. In addition to this, I typically start to add scale exercises to increase strength and speed in one's fingers. Music has been a long-time passion for me since I was a kid. In 2003, I was a 3rd grader in Carpenter Elementary School in Lake Orion learning about the orchestra, when one of the 5th grade students or one of my classmates brought his trumpet with him.
