As a Music Teacher, I have taught in the Classroom for close to 30 years. I have performed with many bands and have played with Felix Cavaliere, John Sebastian, and Jazz artist Maynard Ferguson. My teaching style is diverse, positive and motivational. In studying music in College, there were essential study guides that would help make me the professional I am today. I had studies with Sal Salvadore and also Lee Ritenhour who are noted musicians with different approaches to playing. Their teaching techniques varied but was added to my methods of teaching students.

I believe that private instruction is the best way for anyone to advance their learning of a particular instrument. One-on-one instruction ensures that each student is getting what they need as an individual. Here, I am able to address the learning style of each student, as a unique musician. Playing WITH the student, both in unison, and in duets, students have the opportunity to see and hear a model for clarinet playing. In my studio, the students' musical needs and desires are paramount; and together, we will celebrate successes, pinpoint areas of improvement, inspire one another, and have fun!

My greatest delight is to see my students progress. I set goals based on the students ability. I also encourage them to bring music that they want to learn to class. If it is beyond their capabilities I can re-arrange it to suit their appropriate level.I have the gift of patience and can accommodate slow learners.

In 2000, I left medical school to pursue music and have never regretted the decision!  I went on to receive my bachelor's in 2004 and master's in 2012, both in instrumental music education.  I recently relocated to South Tampa after being a full time 4th-8th band director for 10 years in Chicago.  I also taught kindergarten music and K-3rd group piano.  I have been teaching private lessons on all instruments for 13 years, with an average of 10 students per week in my studio.  I have taught private lessons to students from age 8 to 60, at all levels of experience.  I especially love teaching beginners, at any age, to provide a well established basis of fundamentals, in order for those students to easily achieve great musicianship later on in their development.

Select all the days/times the student would be available to start lessons. Selecting "3pm - 7pm" means the student can start as early as 3pm or start as late as 7pm. It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.

Are you sure that's your only availability? The more availability you easier it will be to arrange a teacher for you.
