As a recent transplant to Brooklyn, I look forward to using my experience to build a successful portfolio of new students in New York. My goals are to help each student build solid musical and instrumental fundamentals, to guide students in exploring their own personalized interests and passions within music, and to help students develop qualities of confidence, hard work, and empathy that come with experiencing music and will serve them in all areas of their lives. Each student is unique. They require their own method and pace of training. My hope is to help the student reach their goals while still enjoying their time practicing for it. The routine that works best for the student will prove itself over time depending on the student. It may be to work one way for one student but not so much for another student. Practice does get tiresome and so I like to provide many different ways to practice that will help keep sessions more engaged and eager to challenge ourselves. Read More

I taught 4th and 5th grade band and orchestra for the San Ramon Valley School District for 5 years as well as after-school ensembles for 9-11 year olds. Read More

I do not have a set typical method I use for all my students because everyone is different. I begin with assessing a new student to find what their goals are and their commitment level is. All of my students find their lessons to be challenging, but my goal is to also provide them with a nurturing and creative atmoshpere. My students find that they make significant improvement every week. Read More

I am a great believer in the importance of a guided warmup routine and have developed a practical method for students to acquire facility with all of their scales and arpeggios in all the keys with various articulations in a logical and efficient way using standard materials. This is backed up with a "saxophone curriculum" to bring a student from beginning stages all the way to solo recitals at a college level. Read More
