I'm a member of the AFM local 9~535, and still perform and get gigs with some excellent orchestras.i have a nonprofit organization the Charles River Sinfonietta, that gives mostly chamber music concerts. For beginner students who are children, I typically start with Suzuki violin book. My goal is try to find the balance between fun and progress. I will give them fun book after they learn the fundamentals. After that, I would like to ask and help them to prepare their first performance. For beginner piano students, I have found the Faber Piano Adventures books to be quite successful. For other lessons, I try to tailor them to each student and find materials that fit with their unique music goals. I have drawn from a variety of music resources, as well as my own knowledge, to help students learn through their own unique way of thinking. I believe it is important to build off of the skills that students already have, and to find ways to support them as they grow in other areas. Read More

I like to have a consistent plan for all of my lessons, so that students know what to expect, as well as the best methods for practicing. I always start my students off with a warm-up consisting of scales or a technical exercise that relates to the piece that we are working on.
