I would best describe my teaching style as "Learn how to have fun playing music, simply." I am thankful for being blessed with an ability to hear how my student plays and quickly and accurately prescribe a simple fix to get over hurdles. Sometimes all it takes is looking at things a different way to realize something and clear up confusion. Just like in life, sometimes with music all it takes is your teacher saying something a different way or helping you look at the music from a different angle. Read More

My teaching experience goes back to my undergraduate days, I began teaching private lessons 7 years ago. I have a great experience for online teaching as well, as I recently had a variety of students to teach on Zoom. Currently I am a teacher at the Long Island Conservatory and I also teach privately. In my career I was also teaching music theory and piano and I did many workshops in primary schools where I gained a lot of experience to introduce kids and inspire them to start learning an instrument. I have been teaching for 10 years now and have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share with anyone interested in learning music. I graduated in 2011 with a BA in music education from Brooklyn College, and recently graduated with a MA in Jazz Performance in 2020 from New Jersey City University. I perform regularly in the New York City music scene, performing with such ensembles/musicians like the Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra, Mingus Big Band, Shag Horns, Eddie Palmieri, James Jabbo Ware, and Adam O'Farrill. I focus on tone production, articulation and phrasing. Sight reading, improvisation and music theory follow next. With clarinet and saxophone students I spend a lot of time on reed selection and care. There are so many misconceptions about reed strength and how it relates to mouthpieces that I could talk about it all day (and usually do). I work on clarinets and saxophones every day and consider myself proficient in identifying problems with instruments and then fixing those problems. Read More

I started teaching music in college through my babysitting network. When the mothers and fathers of the children I cared for found out that I played piano and woodwinds, many of them asked if I would also give their kids private lessons. Having a knack with kids and with music, my music teaching practice quickly blossomed in that small town. I have found that while it's important to keep kids sharp in their ability to read music on the page, it is at least as important to engage their creativity off the page. Read More

Studying music has been one of the most positive forces in my life. I am dedicated to providing a welcoming and non judgmental environment for my students to freely express themselves. I graduated from the Manhattan School of Music in New York with my Bachelors degree and I returned to pursue my Masters degree. I have performed all over the world and I produce many concerts for charity. I have performed in major venues such as Alice Tully Hall and the Cathedral of St. Read More
