Hi! I am an experienced and serious cellist and teacher. I have a great passion for music and for teaching music as well. I am interested in helping cellists of all levels to achieve their artistic and musical aspirations and goals. Studying music has helped me to be disciplined, focused, and determined person and I believe that I can help students develop these same traits. Im a passionate and curious musician who is interested in sharing discoveries with students as I continue to search on my own musical path. I am currently a graduate cello student at Juilliard, where I also received my Bachelors degree. I have been teaching for about six years, and currently maintain a small private teaching studio. I use a variety of method books--Bastien, Hal Leonard, John Thompson, and Faber are all favorites of mine for piano. For strings, I stand by the Suzuki method and String Builder series. All lessons are supplemented with sheet music that I print out myself for free on imslp.org, so you get that free of charge! I have experience with students of all ages, levels, and backgrounds--in group settings and in classrooms. . I am a former Suzuki student and fully trained Suzuki teacher working with children ages 3 and above. In addition, I have traveled extensively with my trio, The Inventions Trio, giving master classes and workshops for music students at prestigious institutions such as the San Francisco Conservatory and Indiana University. I started teaching cello lessons 10 years ago in an after school program for 3rd and 4th graders. In this program, I taught music theory and group cello lessons for classes of 4-20 students. Around this time I also started teaching private cello lessons to students who wanted to move at a faster pace than group lessons. Since then I have taught many students of all ages and and levels.
