I am a musician, composer, and educator with backgrounds in both jazz and classical studies. I have a Bachelors of Music from New England Conservatory and a Masters of Music at Berklee College of Music's Global Jazz Institute. I am regularly performing in a wide variety of settings from jazz to avant-garde to hip hop and anything in between. I completed my Master's degree at Tbilisi State Conservatoire under the guidance of Prof. Tamara Gabarashvili (Tchaikovsky competition 5th prize 1966). Since 2004 until 2015 I was a principal cellist of Tbilisi Opera and Ballet State Theater. Since 2004 I am teaching private cello lessons and also working at music schools and pre-school places, and I am also a member of a string quartet "Iberi." I enjoy watching my students grow and watching them develop their own interests and personal tastes. I open the door for my students with a strong technical instruction, and encourage them to walk through that "door" and develop their musical expression and curiosity. Through hard work, patience, and curiosity, we can form a connection that will help us both grow in innumerable ways. My two rules of teaching are to be encouraging and be engaging. I don't want students dragging their feet as they walk to their lesson. I want them sprinting up the stairs and ringing my bell several times, because they are so excited to get started! Teaching the cello is something that I kept doing when I came to the US to study at Juilliard, teaching at their MAP program and other programs in the New York area. Ive taught students of all ages and levels, and truly believe that building a healthy rapport with my students is the only way to instill in them the passion I have for music and for the cello. I dont like forcing students to do something theyre not passionate about, however, a big part of what I teach is that how you do something is how you do everything. Read More

Additionally, I have been a soloist with orchestras and performed concerts sponsored by the US government, the Japanese government and was given a Contribution Award by the Phoenix Government. As the Junior Director/ Cello faculty of Cincinnati Young Artists Festival which takes place at Cincinnati Conservatory of Music every summer. Worked with students who prepared for Regional Orchestra, All Sate Orchestra, pre college for Juilliard , Mannes and Mahattan School of Music. Also teach for adults. Every Year I am getting a Student Concert. All of my Students play in the Concert as a Soloist.
