I have taught private lessons for 10 years in schools, my studio and in students homes. I have taught all ages and am comfortable with young children. Read More

I started teaching piano to both children and adults in high school. One of them was 5 years old, the other was 6, and another was 13 years old. I've also taught a 19-year-old for a short period of time. For the two kids who were 5 and 6, they were total beginners at piano and did not know anything about piano so my main focus was to introduce them to this instrument and teach them the basics of music theories, scores, and postures. I like to create goals with the student, not just for them. In other words, I make sure the student's opinion is always taken in consideration to ensure that every goal set is within reason and that the student genuinely thinks it is realistic for them. I encourage students to keep a practice journal where they write down the amount of time they practiced, what scale and technique exercise they practiced, and the pieces they practiced. Read More

My students range from beginners to advance playing, and each student is different and requires different approaches. Regardless, I teach the same technical skills to all my students just in different ways so that they accomplish something from each lesson. I have been teaching a great deal of young students and quite a few Adults as well. Read More
