Some highlights of my teaching career include working with A Gift for Music to give Title 1 schools access to the fine arts, being a cabin counselor and cello instructor for young musicians at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp, and providing private lessons at The Orlando School of Music. All these experiences created a burning desire for higher fine arts education, culminating in my part in the co-creation of the Central Florida Cello Association, an organization which provides the UCF cello studio with multiple masterclasses a year given by world class artists and acclaimed educators. I believe that theory is important, but practice makes all the difference. I like playing with my students, this way, they can see my hands, and my moves and hear what I am doing. It is important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I always try to end a lesson with the song that they dream to play one day perfectly. For students of all levels, introducing the necessary techniques for their development as a cellist through pieces they find enjoyable and challenging is my top priority. Beginners I typically progress quickly through a variety of beginner books such as the Essential Elements or the Susuki method depending on the age and determination of the student, with a focus on learning recognizable and enjoyable tunes. Intermediate cellists will have either Goltermann or Bach works sprinkled in between pieces and arrangements they'd like to play. Read More

My teaching experience dates back to my high school days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 11 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students ever since. I am a public schools orchestra director who has taught in 2 school distrcits in New Jersey and now will be teaching in the Orange County Public Schools.
