I taught at the Boston Conservatory extension program when it existed. I went to japan and saw Suzuki as part of my training for teaching the Suzuki method. I belong to ASTA and SAA , SMS and AFM I've had students playing in the suzuki festivals. Students I've taught are now having excellent careers as professional musicians. With over 15 years of experience playing and performing cello, I have won many competitions in Atlanta, GA and performed as a soloist with Atlanta-based orchestras including the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra, the Georgia Philharmonic, and the Dekalb Symphony Orchestra. Additionally, I have performed with the Atlanta Symphony Youth Orchestra and the NEC Symphony Orchestra as the principal cellist, and I have also been featured in masterclasses with renowned cellists such as Steven Isserlis, Sheku Kanneh-Mason, and Paul Katz. I believe patience and versatility are very important, as each student learns a different way. I set goals for each lesson and try to guide the student during the lesson into achieving them. Sometimes the goals are achieved during the lesson, and sometimes while practicing on hteir own time. I like to use guitar books if at all possible for beginners because its a great place to start. I am a younger instructor who is very excited and passionate about the inter- and intra-personal aspects of music and teaching music. First discovering my love of performing and problem solving through chamber music, I have since received a dual degree from UMass Amherst in Music and Social ThoughtPolitical Economy, and I am now pursuing my Masters of Music in Cello Performance at Boston University.
