My methods as a teacher are very vast. I have taught many people and my success in teaching is unrivaled. I am able to make my students change direction, focus, get back on track, use a tangent to further a topic and much more. I think most music teachers focus on the music and not enough on their abilities to teach. I have been a preschool teacher and filled various other educational roles. Read More

Fun. Music is fun. Learning music should be fun. My style of teaching is to take what I find fun about playing music and introduce it to my students in gradual easy to understand steps. I do my best at teaching my students to read, write and create music. I also include many fun exercises to achieve finger dexterity. For my more advanced students I will take them to local open mic nights to help grow their confidence. Read More

I am looking first at what the students know about music and what they can put into practice. Then according to their level i managed to teach them the 14 Chords on guitar in order to move forward in their ability skills. Then I will propose them to learn any songs of their choice and teach them the manner to play it ; arpeggio, Rythmic, solos. I can teach the students some basic of music theory for them to be able to read music and apply it on their instrument. Read More

My focus with each student is to tune into them in a way that I can then assess their physical, mental and emotional abilities. I ask each student what they want to learn with their instrument. If they do not know, we then start with the basics to establish a solid foundation in music with their instrument. Along the way, I ask the student what kind of music they like. Read More

Typically I break my lessons into two parts; half dedicated to learning songs, and the other half dedicated to learning chords. For songs I'll start out with very basic melody songs (beginners), eventually working in power chords and tackling classic rock favorites, and finally incorporating chords/barre chords/soloing. If the student is interested in playing a particular style of music my goal is to eventually focus on that style in our lessons. Read More

Lessons need to be fun but at the same time the student needs to feel like they're making real progress. What I do is slow down whatever we're working on to a manageable pace for the student then slowly speed things up in a way that is comfortable for the student while at the same time providing new challenges and goals for the student to work toward. If the student is willing I also give the student the opportunity to perform live in front of their friends and family in real shows at real venues around town. Read More

I focus on several different areas for every student, so that he/she can keep progressing in all areas of technic and musical knowledge: WARM-UPs, SCALES, MUSIC THEORY, SIGHTREADING, and PREPARED PIECES. And as all music students 'should', it's important to build a good habit of practicing with a metronome. My experience in both the civilian and military music communities has given me a very open-minded but direct approach to WHAT you should learn, and HOW FAST you should be able to progress each individual student.
