For beginning students who are children, I start with Hal Leonards Essential Elements (or the Hal Leonard Guitar Method for guitar students) to build a strong foundation in reading music, proper technique, tone production, and fundamental skills. Once students have a solid grasp of the basics, I introduce age-appropriate solo repertoire to develop confidence and prepare them for their first recital performance. For adult learners, I tailor each lesson to their personal goals and musical interestswhether they are brand-new beginners, returning to music, or exploring a specific style. Read More

Hi! My name is Daniel and I have been teaching guitar for over 15 years. I started playing the guitar at a young age. Aside from finding a student's learning style, my teaching method centers around creating goals that break down barriers. Most barriers are something other than a student's ability to learn. Music is a hard-learned skill, and it's all too often that many students face the hard reality of not becoming the next legend as soon as they pick up their first instrument. I'm a multi-instrumentalist/vocalist with a fresh, practical approach to teaching, based on my 27-year on-stage perfoming experience. Everything I share with students, I get them to apply it directly in the songs they love, which not only shows them how things work musically, but also keeps them excited and motivated about learning music. Fronting my own band for 20 years, writing/arranging songs, and performing them all over the world has given me the insight into applying music concepts into real songs, and real musical situations. I believe in the philosophy of and empty cup. My lessons are not built for me to tell the student what to do, but rather learn how they learn and research the best practices for reaching that student. There is no "cookie cutter" method that works for all students, because everyone learns and comprehends a little bit differently. I remain sensitive to that and patient with my students. It always gets me when a student that is stuck on a part of their music finally understands and performs the passage perfectly. Read More
