I'm a dedicated cellist and guitarist who really enjoys working with people of all ages and ability levels. I graduated with a BA in cello performance from Connecticut College and went on to study at Virginia Tech. I have played in amateur orchestras as well as in chamber ensembles. I also have performance experience on guitar in a variety of settings. I am a huge fan of live music and believe that the two best ways to carry on the tradition of music is through performance as well as one on one and classroom teaching. Read More

Although Id studied piano since age five, at times without much enthusiasm, everything changed when I reached age eleven and met my first cello. From the start, I knew Id found my medium in life. One of the most important values I hope to pass on to my students is that of making each note as beautiful as possible, and having this in mind every time they pick up their instruments. I hope to teach my students to approach music with intention behind every note and to be thinking musically and creatively with every motion they make. Performers make musical decisions with every phrase. I hope not to teach them the “correct” choices to make, but how to make these choices, and, as a broader objective, how to think about music and performing. Read More

I instantly found a love for the challenge of teaching, and the joy when a student experiences success.
