Instruments: Piano Guitar Violin Cello Viola
I have been teaching music for seven years now and I love it. I studied music performance at the Purchase Music Conservatory. I play and teach violin, viola, cello, guitar, and piano. I write music and occasionally I make fun music videos. See above my students all playing Megalovania together during covid lockdown. You can find me playing music all the time in the park doing my one man orchestra looper pedal act. Read More
Instruments: Piano Cello
I currently work as a pianist for various Ballet companies and have studied music performance at the Juilliard School and San Francisco Conservatory of music. We will learn and explore the capabilities of the very large instrument by studying literature and repertoire that helped develop the instrument into what it is today. The more we read the more we learn! I will teach you how to read music so easily you will be able to read music at the piano for the first time. Read More
Instruments: Piano Cello Drums Orchestral Percussion
That is my #1 priority. I emphasize improvisation the most for all my students so they are able to express themselves freely on their instrument! From my experience, most of my students, if not all, practice diligently and consistently because they want to! Not because they are forced to, but because they love to. I explore all types of genre from hip-hop, rock, classical, and jazz in order to expand the student's musical palette. Read More
Instruments: Violin Cello Viola Double Bass
I work in partner with students who are enrolled in public school lessons, and incorporate their school's method book (i.e. Essential Elements 2000 or similar), as well as rudimentary exercises and pieces appropriate for their level. I am a strong advocate of Kreutzer etudes, Hrimaly scales, and Suzuki pieces as learning tools. I guide my instruction based around the students' ability, needs, and goals. I believe that learning music is a constant conversation between student, teacher, and any others involved (parents, guardians, siblings, school music teacher), and like to keep communication open with weekly notes and homework assignments recorded in a music notebook. Instruments: Cello
I have worked with students ranging from ages 5 to 80, with varying ranges of motivation, discipline, drive, and family support. It is my goal as a teacher to train well-rounded students who not only enjoy music making, but are cognizant of what goes into the learning process. Together we develop a set of reliable tools to solve the problems that will arise in a uniquely tailored curriculum, dependent on their individualized learning style and goals, to make the most fruitful experience possible. Instruments: Piano Violin Cello Viola
I've enjoyed teaching piano, violin and viola students, for the past seventeen years! And what I've generally found is, that it's not how long you practice, but how well. I feel that a student needs to be taught how to practice! I travel around Westchester NY and in addition to teaching the instrument, I encourage students to compose their own original pieces. I am a published composer and many of my music videos can be seen on You Tube. Read More
