I am interested in helping cellists of all levels to achieve their artistic and musical aspirations and goals. For very beginning students, I usually start with the Suzuki Method Books and All For Strings Comprehensive String Method Books. I usually encourage my students to read music, but for the youngest students I start by playing with them and having them copy me. Once they are ready, I start teaching them basic music theory that will help them read music. For intermediate to advanced players I institute a routine of practicing scales and etudes as well as a solo piece that is appropriate for their ability level. Read More

And, if a student wants some pointers on how to write a song, I am quite experienced in that, having written several Off Broadway kid's shows, including my popular, "The Everyday Life Of Kids", which played throughout the Westchester NY school system. I have experience with students of all ages, levels, and backgrounds--in group settings and in classrooms. . I am a former Suzuki student and fully trained Suzuki teacher working with children ages 3 and above. In addition, I have traveled extensively with my trio, The Inventions Trio, giving master classes and workshops for music students at prestigious institutions such as the San Francisco Conservatory and Indiana University.
