I normally use the Standard of Excellence method books for most of my students; however, I am open minded to adjusting to each individual student's musical needs, whether it be Jazz, Classical, or whatever style music the student is focusing on. For Drummers, I prefer the Haskell Harr Method, or the Buddy Rich Method Book, as well as the Breeze Easy Method Book. I offer the option for students to send me practice progress videos during the week so that I may comment on any questions that may arise in between lessons. I have found that this pushes students to keep a regular practice routine, and also develops their ability to self-critique and correct their own playing. I have been teaching regularly since my college days. I started as a piano teacher, but quickly expanded into stringed instrument. Right now I teach at home, in my own studio, my student's homes, and in couple local schools as a music director and teacher.
