I usually start with an etude but I have experience with the level system with eastman community school of music and can start a plan based on the needs of the individual. I usually use Hal Leonards Essential Elements for total beginners but have experience with other schools of teaching such as Suzuki. I have been teaching for more than 30 years, mostly in the public schools as well as privately. I have instructed large groups and ensembles, as well as smaller musical groups in and out of the public schools. I recently graduated with a B.M. in cello performance from the Juilliard School. I have over six years of private teaching experience with cellists of all ages and experience levels. As a soloist, ensemble member, and participant in international festivals and competitions, I have performed throughout the US, China, Canada, Switzerland, and Russia. I have performed as a soloist with various orchestras throughout Connecticut including the Hartford Symphony Orchestra, and was a member of Carnegie Hall's National Youth Orchestra of the USA.
