I bring a variety of different ideas for activities to my lessons, so that when confronting a difficult skill to learn, such as bow hold or producing a good tone, my student and I do not get stuck in a method book. I enjoy using a lot of body awareness cues to make music making comfortable for all. I have experiences with both feldenchrist and Alexander technique to approach cello in a holistic way that allows the music to flow naturally without physical boundaries. Physical gestures must match musical ideas but are usually the first thing that is overlooked when trying to approach a musical idea.
