I Played trumpet and violin in the orchestra for the Brandfor High School annual Musicals for (15) fifteen years.
Also, I played violin and trumpet in the New Haven, Connecticut Civic Orchestra from 1996 - 2004.
I was born in Winchester Indiana on 9/9/1954, but raised in Middletown Ohio. Trumpet was my major instrument which I focused on in obtaining my Bach. Degree in Music Ed. from Miami University of Ohio, and Strings were my focus. I started and ran a string program in Branford CT since 1985, and, this is where I still live. I have a total of 23 years in public schools. I got my first string teaching position in Oconee Co. SC I studied Cello for 4 years at Kent State University from 1973-74, which is why I focused on string teaching. I enjoy composing music, and arranging music, for fellow musicians which has become my passion, which I now do through the music notation program - Finale 20006b, and the sequencer program Pro Tools7M Powered, thru which I run thru my MacBook Pro, and my M audio I/o Interface board.
I Developed a unique method of teaching string composition from beginners to advanced students as well as in the areas of Improvisation and Composition . Moreover, I enjoy teaching to a diverse age population and a variety of styles from each instrument I teach.
Moreover, I have developed students' original compositions, for 2nd year students and for those older students to explore more levels. I compiled them in individual books, so that they can learn from each other which proved to be successful.I started with no musical experience and now can read music and have begun to play without looking at the strings, excellent teacher.
